England and Wales Cricket Board

In a delightful piece of news, the England and Wales Cricket Board has come up with a decision to give equal pay to England’s men and women teams in international cricket. With this revolutionary move, they have now joined India, New Zealand, and South Africa in this list of cricket boards to pay equally to their men's and women's teams.

The announcement from the ECB has come just after the announcement from cricket’s governing body about offering equal pay to the men’s and women’s teams in global international cricketing events under the banner of cricket’s governing body.

ECB has given this good news to the women’s team after their brilliant performance in the Women’s Ashes as they showed brilliant resistance in the iconic rivalry. However, the Aussies managed to retain the urn. The series between the women’s teams of two cricketing powerhouses attracted huge crowds on the grounds, including the likes of Edgbaston, the Oval, and Lord’s.

The skipper of the England women’s team, Heather Knight also expressed her joy on this announcement from the cricket board. She felt that this amazing move from the England and Wales Cricket Board would also encourage the next-generation girls to pursue their careers in the game of cricket.

“It’s really important that we continue to drive the women’s game forward and it’s fantastic to see equal match fees for England Women and England Men. The direction of travel for the women’s game has always been the most important thing, creating a sustainable product that people want to watch and play,” Knight said.

This announcement from the England and Wales Cricket Board has been implemented immediately, applying even to the fixture of England Women’s team against Sri Lanka women tomorrow Thursday, August 31.

Currently, the England Women’s Team are all set to play in the three-match home T20I series against Sri Lanka followed by a three-match home ODI series against them.
