The veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has come up with a big statement while comparing the former Indian quick Zaheer Khan with the England bowling legend James Anderson. He happened to say that the ex-Indian pacer spearhead is better than the English legend.

"James Anderson’s bowling style and method are completely different. He plays in different conditions in England. If he plays in India, Zaheer Khan is a better bowler than him (James Anderson),” said Ishant Sharma during an interview on BeerBiceps YouTube Channel.

Subsequently, a section of Indian cricket fans took this statement from Ishant Sharma as an opportunity to come up with interesting reactions on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Fans reacted with some trolling remarks and they also fell in splits owing to the fact of the statistical comparison between James Anderson and Zaheer Khan.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Later on, in the same interview, the veteran Delhi-based pacer also opened up about the infamous incident that happened to be upon his name. It happened during the Wellington Test of 2014 against New Zealand. A video went viral on social media platforms; after seeing the video, the fans who watched it went on to accuse Ishant of abusing his senior mate Zaheer Khan.

Clearing the air over the incident and the accusations, Ishant spoke briefly about the incident in the interview. He denied all the accusations and said that he can’t even think of abusing Zaheer, the latter is a mentor for him.

That’s what I told myself. Even today people do not know to whom I said that. I have never abused any player for dropping a catch. How can I give to Jack (Zaheer Khan). He is like a teacher to me,” stated Ishant Sharma.

Notably, Ishant is only the second Indian pacer to appear in more than 100 Tests after the former legendary pace-bowling all-rounder Kapil Dev. Even, his senior mate Zaheer Khan had also played 92 Tests before retiring from international cricket.
