England women's cricket players, Natalie Sciver and Katherine Brunt got married in a private ceremony. The event was attended by their current teammates Heather Knight, Danielle Wyatt, former teammate Jenny Gunn, and retired Isha Guha. Sciver and Brunt had announced their engagement way back in October 2019. They were supposed to get married in September 2020 but the COVID19 outbreak months before that jeoparded their plans.
The duo was part of the 2017 Women's World Cup-winning team which beat India in the final at the Lord's Cricket Ground. They also participated in the 2022 edition in which the team couldn't defend their title as they lost to Australia by 71 runs. In that game, Sciver won hearts after scoring a gallant 148 runs in a long-lost game. The Sciver-Brunt is the third pair in Women's Cricket to get married.
Previously South Africa’s Dane van Niekerk-Marizanne Kapp and New Zealand’s Lea Tahuhu and Amy Sattherwaite have got married. Talking about Sciver's career, she has played 89 ODIs and 91 T20Is. In the 50-over format, she has got 2711 runs and 59 wickets to her name. In the shortest format, the right-hander has 1720 runs and 72 wickets. The 29-year-old started her international career with a debut in ODI game against Pakistan in 2013.
In the same year, the Tokyo-born born made her T20I debut against the same opposition. One year later, she made her Test debut and played seven games since then. On the other hand, her now beau is one of the senior-most players in the team. Brunt made her international debut in 2004 in a Test match against New Zealand. In the longest format, she has played 14 games. She has the experience of playing 140 ODIs and 96 T20Is. In these games, she has picked 167 and 98 wickets respectively.
