With FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar inching closer to the knockout stage, the teams are giving it their all to make it through to the next round of the game. With the likes of Netherlands, USA, England, France and Brazil already in the Round of 16, on December 2, Thursday, South Korea and Portugal competed in the Group H match.

To add more to the first half, Portugal’s Ricardo Horta scored the first goal for the team and the lead was matched by the South Korean star Kim Young-gwon in the 27th minute, stunning the entire set of spectators gathered in the stadium.

The deciding half turned out to be a tough one and neither of the teams got off to a great start as the scoreline remained unchanged for the first 15 minutes of the half. At the 60-minute mark, Portugal continued to dominate the game, although South Korea kept creating opportunities and eventually, the match ended in South Korea's favour as Hwang Hee-chan managed to pull of a late goal and put his team in the Round of 16.

Uruguay end campaign in FIFA World Cup 2022

On the other hand, Ghana and Uruguay locked horns in the other Group H match and it was a must-win game for the other three teams in the group barring the Portuguese camp. As things stand, it was Uruguay who inched closer to winning the game and eventually went on to score 2 goals in the first half on the back of a brace from Giorgian de Arrascaeta in the 26th and 32nd minute.

The Black Stars failed to make a comeback and eventually lost momentum in the second half, letting Uruguay create more opportunities and dominate the game completely. It has not been an easy campaign for Ghana and they lost their first outing against Portugal even though they come closer to giving an upset. For the unversed, Portugal sealed their first win against the Black Stars with a scoreline of 3-2. Eventually, Uruguay sealed the win with a scoreline of 0-2 on Friday and ended the tournament on a high as they failed to make it through to the next round.
