South Korea took on Ghana in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 on 28 November. It was a Group H encounter that took place in the Education City Stadium. Speaking of these teams’ form, South Korea came to this clash after a goalless draw with Uruguay. They failed to score a goal in their opening fixture.

On the other hand, Ghana were coming off after a 3-2 loss against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. They were very close in that game to producing an upset in the ongoing tournament. So, both teams were looking for the first win in this year’s tournament. Even, fans were hoping for a better show from Ghana as it was a must-win match for them.

Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 In FIFA World Cup 2022

Speaking of the match, South Korea had better control of the game since the kick-off. But, In the 24th minute, Ghana scored the first goal of the match. Mohammed Salisu scored the opener with his left foot. Then, in the 34th minute, Ghana doubled the lead through Mohammed Kudus. Jordan Ayew provided the assist as he delivered a cross to the far post and Kudus came up with a proper finish.

However, the first half of the match ended 2-0. But, South Korea showed a spirited performance in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ghana goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati Zigi came up with a great save to deny Cho Guesung’s header from 10 yards out. But, in the 58th minute, South Korea managed to pull one goal back. Cho Guesung was the goal scorer while Kangin Lee provided a cross as an assist. Then, in the 61st minute, again Cho Guesung scored his second goal to bring the game to level terms. That time, Kim Jinsu came up with an assist. 

However, when it was looking like South Korea might take the game away from Ghana, at that time only Ghana came up with their third goal. Mohammed Kudus scored his second goal and Inaki Williams was the assist provider. Then, South Korea managed to produce many attacks. But, Ghana managed to keep their nerves and hold to their lead till the final whistle. Thus, Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 in this thrilling encounter.
