Although the 38-year-old couldn’t live up to the expectations in the IPL 2023 for RCB; he could score only 140 runs with the bat in the 13 innings of the 13 matches, he played for his team having no half-century or century to his name. He had a very below-par average of 11.67 in the recently concluded edition of the tournament.
But apart from that, he had an amazing and sensational season in the Indian Premier League during last year’s edition in 2022. In IPL 2022, the star wicketkeeper-batter scored 330 runs and 10 unbeaten knocks in the 16 innings of the 16 matches, he played throughout the season with a brilliant average of 55.00 having an unbeaten half-century on his credit.
Later on, on the back of his amazing outings in the Indian Premier League 2022, Karthik made a stunning comeback as he was picked in the squad of Team India for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. But unfortunately, he couldn’t capitalize the chance and failed to live up to his stature in the 8th edition of the 20-20 World Cup where India got knocked out in the semi-finals of the tournament.
