Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag was undoubtedly one of the cricketers who changed the style of playing Test cricket. Sehwag represented India for almost one and a half decades and completely dominated the bowlers when his bat was in full swing during his prime days in international cricket.

But there is a different kind of bond that Virender Sehwag shared with the former Pakistan bowlers of his time. Meanwhile, the former Pakistan pacer Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has come up with a shocking statement as he called Sehwag’s dismissal as the ‘easiest’ in comparison to dismissing the other batters.

“Sehwag was the easiest to dismiss and the most difficult to bowl at was Rahul Dravid,” said Rana Naved-ul-Hasan to YouTuber Nadir Ali during a podcast on his YouTube channel.

Later on, Rana Naved recalled an incident about Virender Sehwag from the India vs Pakistan series of 2004-05 in which the former was named the ‘Player of the Tournament.

“I will tell you an incident. There was a match where Sehwag was playing on 85. I am talking about the 2004-05 series which we won going there. I was the Player of the Tournament. The series was such that we were trailing 2-0. It was a best-five series. In the third match of the series, Sehwag was hitting big. They almost scored 300 and Sehwag was nearing 85. I asked Inzy Bhai to give me the ball. I bowled a slow bouncer,” said Naved.

“He said a few things back to me. On my way back I told Inzi bhai ‘Next ball, he is getting out’. He was surprised. I bowled a back-of-the-hand slower ball, and an infuriated Sehwag tried to hit it big but holed out. The wicket was so important that we won that match. These are certain tricks of the fast bowler,” he added later.

Notably, Sehwag had been a part of team India in two major international tournament wins including the T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011. He scored more than 16000 runs in international cricket across all the formats
