Only two days are left at the start of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. The uniqueness of this edition is the inclusion of cricket after 1998. However, there is one change though. 24 years ago, men's teams from different nations compete for medals. This time around, the women's team will compete for the medals.
On the other hand, the Indian fans received a major blow early in the day. Neeraj Chopra, who was meant to lead the Indian contingent in the opening ceremony and play for the country in the Javelin throw event, has pulled out due to an injury.
Meanwhile, talking about the event, sports such as Hockey, Badminton, Triathlon, Cycling, Weightlifting, Swimming, Squash, Wrestling, Judo, Athletics, Boxing and Table Tennis will be played apart from cricket.
A total of 36 athletes will represent the Asian country and will fight for medals with other nations.
