Suryakumar Yadav is currently busy playing the 20-20 World Cup for India in Australia. Going to this World Cup, fans termed this middle-order batter as the best in the shortest format of the game. His innovative shots and playing abilities all around the ground have made Surya such a destructive batter.

Speaking about team India, they have managed to win two out of three matches so far in the tournament. In the last match against the proteas, India suffered a loss. But, Suryakumar Yadav was the lone warrior with the bat. Every other batter failed to score as India scored only 133 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.

In the ongoing World Cup so far, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 134 runs in three matches. Against the Netherlands, he scored 51* runs off 25 balls, at a strike rate of 204. He managed to hit seven fours and one six. In that clash, Yadav stitched a solid partnership of 95* runs with the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. He also won the player of the match award for his blistering knock in that match.Β  Against arch-rivals Pakistan, he managed only 15 runs. But, against the Proteas, he scored 68 runs off 40 balls, at a strike rate of 170. Suryakumar Yadav hit six fours and three sixes in that match.

So, fans were hoping to see him in action again with that kind of form against Bangladesh. Team India locked horns with Bangladesh on 2 November 2022 in Adelaide. Speaking about the match, Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and asked India to bat first. But before the match, good news came up for Suryakumar Yadav and his fans. In the recently updated rankings by the Governing Body of Cricket, Yadav became the number one batter in T20Is. He dethroned Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan as he slipped into the second spot. Currently, Surya has 863 points while Rizwan has 842 points. Seeing such an achievement by the batter, fans went crazy as they shared their views on social media platforms.
