The football fans in India are excited as one of the biggest clubs in the world, Liverpool FC is up for sale. According to reports, Mukesh Ambani, the eighth richest person in the world, has shown his interest in buying the Anfield-based club.

However, this is not the first time the chairman of Reliance Industries has shown interest in acquiring the Premier League giants. He had reportedly tried to buy the majority stake in the club multiple times in the past but it couldn’t be successful for some reason or the other.

According to a report in The Guardian, Ambani first showed interest in buying Liverpool back in 2010 when it was co-owned by Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Back then, Ambani’s net worth was $20 billion, whereas now, it is nearly five times to $92.6b.

The unmatched excitement in the Indian fans is reasonable as they think it will help transform the landscape of football in our country. It is also expected to be beneficial for the club as it will give a massive boost to its fanbase in the second-most populated country on the planet. Indian fans will now have an added reason to root for the club.

The supporters of the Reds in India also feel that after Ambani’s takeover, he would bring the Indian masses close to their favourite superstars by organising pre-season friendlies in India.

Now, these are the genuine reasons why fans are over the moon but besides this, some supporters also expect a host of desi changes.

“I have a dream, Garba nights at Anfield. LFC winning trophies, Klopp wants a world-class player and Akash Ambani buys him next day. Free Fafada and Jalebi at Anfield for Kopties. Klopp dancing on “Jio dhan dana dan”, Mukeshbhai,The Saviour of Liverpool. Do it, @reliancejio #LFC,” a Liverpool fan tweeted.

Twitter was abuzz with several reactions as soon as the fans got to know about the possibility of the landmark deal. Here are some of the best Tweets:
