On 2 November 2022, team India locked horns with Bangladesh in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. Both teams played against each other in Adelaide. Meanwhile, both these countries managed to win their first two matches out of three. However, India and Bangladesh were also looking to strengthen their position in this group by winning the clash.

Speaking about the match, Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and asked India to bat first. For the Men in Blue, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to bat. However, Virat Kohli scored another fifty in the match as India scored 184 runs in 20 overs. But, after his innings, Gautam Gambhir criticized Virat once again as fans did not take that lightly.

Virat Kohli forced the no ball from the umpire’ - Gautam Gambhir

During that innings, Virat Kohli got involved in an incident where India received a no-ball decision. During the 16th over of the innings, Virat Kohli was batting for India. On the other hand, Hasan Mahmud was bowling for Bangladesh. On the last delivery of that over, Mahmud bowled a short ball and Kohli tried to pull it.

But, he managed only one run. Then, the umpire considered that delivery as a no-ball for being the second bouncer of the over. So, India got a free hit. After hitting the ball, Virat Kohli seemed to signal the square leg umpire about that no-ball. So, Shakib Al Hasan rushed to the umpire and he was about to get collide with Kohli. After that, they exchanged laughs and a pat on the back.

Regarding that incident, Gautam Gambhir said Virat Kohli forced that decision from the umpires. He also claimed that action against the Governing Body of Cricket. Fans even were not happy with such a statement. Even, after Kohli’s knock against the Dutch, he termed Sryakumar Yadav the real hero over him. After Suryakumar Yadav’s knock against the Proteas, Gautam Gambhir termed that innings as the best-ever T20I innings from any Indian player.
