On 23 October 2022, India kicked off their 20-20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne. India were coming off after winning two home T20I series against Australia and South Africa respectively. Pakistan lost the warm-up match against England but they won the T20I tri-series in New Zealand. So, the stage was set for a great battle between these two cricketing giants.

Speaking about the match, India won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. The Men in Green managed to score 159 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed impressed everyone with his 51 runs off 34 balls, at a strike rate of 150. Shan Masood remained not out on 52 runs off 42 balls. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya grabbed three wickets each.

For India, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to open the innings. But, they lost four quick wickets for 31 runs only. Then, Virat and Hardik steadied the ship as India needed 31 runs in the last two overs of the match.  Indian fans experienced a lot of drama in those last two overs as the Men in Blue clinched the last-ball thriller at the MCG. Virat  Kohli remained not out on 82 runs off 53 balls, including six fours and four sixes. He also won the player of the match award for his innings.

Now, the Broadcasting company shared a video where commentators were seen for the last two overs. Sanjay Bangar, Aakash Chopra, and Gautam Gambhir were doing the commentary at that time. So, Aakash Chopra asked his other colleagues about the outcome of the match. In response to that, Gautam Gambhir looked absolutely clueless. Even, he seemed like not in the mood to comment regarding that. Seeing that, fans were not happy as they thought that Gambhir was not happy as Virat Kohli was the hero of the match. Both these players had a brief history and that might have affected that situation.
