Team India took on Sri Lanka in the second game of the ongoing three-match ODI series on 12 January 2023. The match took place in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The home side were coming off after an easy 67-run win in the first match. However, Hardik Pandya had a decent game with both the bat and the ball.

In the first match, he scored 14 runs with the bat while taking one wicket in six overs. So, fans were hoping to see him with good form in this clash. But, he got involved in an incident where he was seen using slang language during the match. That video has now gone viral and fans were quite surprised.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place when Kusal Mendis and Nuanindu Fernando were batting. Hardik Pandya was heard saying: "Paani Maanga Tha Last Over, G*nd Mara Rahe Ho Udhar ." It meant that he wanted to have drinks in the last over. But, no one came up with the water which made him angry. Some fans also claimed that he yelled at Washington Sundar.  

Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka batted first and got bundled out for 215 runs in 39.4 overs. Hardik Pandya bowled five overs and conceded 26 runs without any wickets. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each. Along with them, Umran Malik took two wickets while Axar Patel took one wicket.

Ahead of the second ODI, Hardik Pandya said that he is very happy to see Rohit Sharma back in action for team India. He said: “Ro (Rohit Sharma) is back so it is much more relaxed. I can focus more on my well-being and try to share all my knowledge. If they need my help or advice, I’m always there. The body is very good, we are following a plan and the workload is being managed rightly with the WC just 6-7 months away."
