In the ongoing Asian Games 2023, the Indian hockey team beat Singapore by 16-1 to continue their dominance in pool games. Led by Captain Harmanpreet Singh's impressive four goals and Mandeep Singh's hat-trick, India secured a resounding victory against Singapore. However, India didn't start well, as they had level scores during the first quarter.

After a lacklustre first quarter, India shifted into high gear, taking a commanding 6-0 lead at halftime. Mandeep added two goals, while Lalit, Gurjant, Sumit, and Vivek each contributed one. Their relentless attack continued in the third quarter too, as India scored five more goals, taking the tally to 11-0. In the last quarter, India got a setback with Singapore opening their scoresheet. India, however, added five more goals and ended it with a 16-1 scoreline.

A total of nine players made their mark on the scoresheet, with Varun Kumar and Abhishek shining in the second half. This triumph bolsters India's outstanding performance at the ongoing Asian Games. Confident and determined, the Indian team began their Asian Games campaign with a dominant 16-0 win against Uzbekistan before overpowering Singapore.

India is set to face Japan in the next game

Looking ahead, the Indian hockey team will aim to maintain their momentum as they brace for two challenging pool matches. Their upcoming clashes include facing defending champions Japan on September 28 and a fierce rivalry encounter against Pakistan on September 30. Their pool campaign will conclude with a match against Bangladesh on October 2.

Meanwhile, India continues to shine in the Asian Games 2023. The team beat arch-rival Pakistan in the women's squash team game by 3-0. 15-year-old Anhat Singh shone in the game.
