The star Pakistan player Fakhar Zaman made it to the headlines of social media for his act during the ongoing rain-affected super-4 clash between India and Pakistan. it all happened when Fakhar helped the ground men in moving the covers when rain started at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The visuals of this gesture from the Pakistan star also started making rounds on social media as soon as shared by an X user.

Speaking of the match between the arch-rivals, both teams are locking horns for the second time in the ongoing continental championship. They met first time on September 2 in Kandy where the match was called off due to rain.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first; the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and young star Shubman Gill provided a strong and brilliant start to Team India. The duo stitched an amazing partnership of 121 runs for the first wicket in 16.4 overs before Rohit fell prey to Shadab Khan.

Rohit and Gill played the all-important knocks of 56 and 58 runs, respectively to lay a strong foundation for the men in blue. At the time of the rain interruption, India were one more wicket down and had scored 147 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 24.1 overs. Former skipper Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were there in the middle on individual scores of 8 and 17 runs, respectively. Before KLโ€™s arrival in the middle, Gill had scored 58 runs before losing his wicket to Shaheen Shah Afridi in the 18th over.

Notably, KL Rahul is making his comeback for India after a long wait due to an injury, he sustained during the Indian Premier League 2023.

Coming back to Fakhar Zaman, he is also going through a lean patch with the bat of late; however, his act and gesture for ground men attracted a lot of contrasting reactions on social media from the fans.
