Pakistan made it through to the semi-finals on the back of South Africa crushing out of the tournament after losing the match against Netherlands on November 6, Sunday. Post the first match, Pakistan faced South Africa in the second and eventually won the match by 5 wickets to make it through to the knockouts.

Irfan Pathan, the former Indian pacer, took a dig at the Pakistani fans saying that the Twitter accounts from the neighbours looked active on Sunday. However, this tweet did not go well with the Pakistani fans who claimed that India won only because of cheating and not skills.

“Padosiyon ke Twitter accounts sirf SUNDAY ke naam pe zinda hai. Love it. ,” Pathan tweeted. However, the timely tweet came as an open invitation for haters to come up with mean tweets and trolls.

It was pure luck for Pakistan as they made it to the finals only on the back of a win from Netherlands against the Proteas. However, their potential to crush down a mighty opponent was also a factor as they are the only team barring Netherlands to defeat Proteas in the Super 12 round. As things stand, the Men in Green will brace themselves to face New Zealand on Wednesday and the team under the leadership of Babar Azam would hope to make it through to the summit clash, to be played in Melbourne on Sunday.

India, on the other hand, are all set to face England on Thursday and it will be a tough battle for both teams and the Three Lions are the favourites to make it through. Fans, who attended the India-Pakistan battle in the campaign opener in huge numbers on October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), would hope for a repeat of the same on Sunday.
