Sunrisers settle their scores in Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad clash
Meanwhile, in the reverse fixture between both teams, the 2016 winners emerged winners this time around. In the previous game between both teams, the 2020 finalists won the low-scoring game in Hyderabad. In the recently-concluded game in Delhi, the home team lost by a small margin in a high-scoring game.
Talking about the game, the Orange Army won the toss and elected to bat first. The former champions, despite losing wickets, didn't drop their scoring rate and continued to be aggressive. At one stage, they lost four wickets for 83 runs in 9.2 overs. Abhishek Sharma, who opened the batting for the second time this season, scored 67 off 36 balls including 12 fours and a six.
He got out when the tea had scored 107 runs in 11.3 overs. Thanks to Heinrich Klassen (53) and support from Abdul Samad (28), the team reached 197/6. Akeal Hosein, who made his IPL debut, scored 16 off 10 balls. For the Blue Brigade, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh took four wickets while others had a poor day. In reply, despite losing their skipper on the second ball, the Capitals were going well.
The likes of Phil Salt (59) and Mitchell Marsh (63) put together 112 runs in just 11 overs. At this stage, it looked like the national capital-based side will pull off a hat trick of wins after going down badly in the first five games. However, after losing their wickets, the team's chase derailed. Despite Axar Patel's rescue act, the team lost the game by nine runs.
