Hardik Pandya’s rise to the top of cricket has been nothing sort of sensational. The right-hand all-rounder who came in as a big hitter has turned into one of the most dependable players in the team right now. His match-winning knock against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 reminded us of similar feats in the past. Let’s look at five of Hardik Pandya’s best knocks in International cricket.

1. 33(17) vs PAK at Dubai, 2022 (T20)

Hardik Pandya’s most important knock was also his most recent as the Gujarat batter took India to a sensational win against the arch-rivals Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022. Coming at sixth, the all-rounder smashed 33 runs in just 17 balls. Not only that but also took his national side to an important win.

2. 42*(22) v AUS at Sydney, 2020 (T20I)

Pandya’s second-best knock came against Australia in 2020 when the 28-year-old smashed 42 runs in 22 deliveries, helping India chase down a massive target of 194/5. His knock included three fours and two sixes while India won the match by six wickets.

3. 93(95) v SA at Cape Town, 2018 (Test)

Pandya has also shown his batting masterclass in the longest format. Playing against a strong South Africa side, the then 24-year-old smashed 93 runs in 95 balls to thwart a bowling attack that consisted of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander. Although India lost the match by 72 runs, this innings was a marker for Pandya as a technically gifted batter.

4. 92*(76) v AUS at Canberra, 2020 (ODI)

Having lost the first two matches in a three-match ODI series, India seemed down and out when Pandya took charge of the game and scored an unbeaten 92 off just 76 balls to help India win the match. With Pandya leading the batting, India avoided a clean sweep at home against Australia.

5. 76(43) v PAK at The Oval, 2017 (ODI)

India’s loss in the Champions Trophy is still fresh in every cricket fan's mind. Despite India featuring the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and others, they were outplayed by Pakistan and defeated by a massive 180 runs.

Where other India batters could not do much against a fire-breathing Pakistan bowling attack, Pandya played like it was nothing. He scored 76 out of 43 deliveries and ignited hopes in the minds of a billion people before he was run out by a wrong decision of Ravindra Jadeja.
