Pakistan cricket team faced a big blow just before they announced their squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, in India; this blow went on to hit Pakistan when the star young pacer Naseem Shah got ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023 plans. Later, he was replaced by the senior pacer Hasan Ali in the World Cup squad.

Naseem Shah was in action with Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 before he was ruled out of the tournament after his injury increased during the super-4 match against India. Later, he was replaced by the young pacer Zaman Khan in the playing XI of Pakistan for the last super-4 match against Sri Lanka.

"The medical panel didn't take it seriously." - Moin Khan on Naseem's injury

Meanwhile, the former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan has come up with a shocking statement on Naseem’s injury and this major loss for Pakistan. He lashed out at the medical team of Pakistan and their negligence while dealing with the young pacer’s shoulder injury.

“Naseem's injury is a disaster for Pakistan's team medical panel and physiotherapist. Because he has been constantly complaining that he is having problems for three to four months yet they were continuously playing him. A player would always wish to not get dropped but when he is telling you about his injury, you have to take it very seriously. The medical panel didn't take it seriously. This was a recipe for disaster,” said Moin Khan to Cricket Pakistan.

“The authorities in PCB should task them because we suffered a great loss ahead of the World Cup when Naseem was in form and was bowling extraordinarily. And which is why now we have to take Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali is an experienced bowler, who has been through similar circumstances. From that point of view, this decision is suitable and Hasan Ali's selection is justified,” he added later.

Notably, the Pakistan cricket team has also started their practice in Hyderabad after landing in India on Wednesday, September 27, for the marquee international tournament.
