Indian Premier League 2023 has witnessed the rise of many young players either with the bat or the ball. The star Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of those names; he is currently in the second spot in the list of highest run-scorers in the tournament. He has scored 442 runs in the 10 innings of the 10 matches he played so far for the Royals with an impressive average of 44.20 having a century and three half-centuries on his credit.

Just after his brilliant performances, Indian cricket fans are also requesting the Indian Cricket Board to include him in the national squad of Team India. Although, the current season hasn’t been the same for all the emerging Indian youngsters and one of those names is the star Delhi Capitals’ opener Prithvi Shaw.

Meanwhile, the former legendary Australian pacer Brett Lee has also lavished praise on Jaiswal. Subsequently, he also compared the form and temperament of Jaiswal to that of Prithvi Shaw and the circumstances of both players.

“I'm really impressed by his (Yashasvi Jaiswal) temperament, his strike rate is absolutely brilliant. He's got the right attitude. He's going to play for India for many, many years,” said Lee to Jio Cinema just before the clash of Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans yesterday.

Although Lee’s statement was countered by the former star New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris; the latter also went a bit hard while analyzing Prithvi Shaw’s current form in the tournament.

Prithvi Shaw is so far off the pace, it's not even funny - Scott Styris

“I know you used Prithvi Shaw's name here. All the competition of young players around… Shaw is so far off the pace, it's not even funny. He needs to work, he needs to go back to domestic cricket and the IPL and work out on his game. He has to get himself fit and be indispensable,” said Styris in response to Lee’s remarks.
