Ahmed Shahzad made a promising start to his international career but the star batter couldn’t live up to the expectations of the people. The batter was famous for being a look-alike of the former Indian captain Virat Kohli. The 30-year-old Pakistani cricketer recently made headlines when he said in an interview that he wants the Hollywood Actor Brad Pitt to play his role if ever a biopic is made on the cricketer’s life.

It was during an interview with Pakistani journalist Syed Yahya Hussaini that the Pakistan batter answered who he thinks can play his character best. Shehzad currently plays in the Pakistani domestic circuit after being dropped from the national team in 2019.

“Kaun sa adaakar aapke khayal mein jo Ahmed Shahzad ke character ko ache tareeke se kar sakta hai?” asked Hussaini which translates to, 'Who do you think can play your character the best in a movie'?

The Pakistan opener, with a straight face and a nod of the head, said, “Brad Pitt”.

The answer from the batter went viral on social media as it didn’t go down well with cricket fans across the world. Shehzad was heavily trolled for his answer as the fans ripped him apart on Twitter.

Here's how Twitter reacted to his statement:

Coming back to his career, Shehzad was a promising young talent from Pakistan and was touted as the ‘next big thing’ emerging from the country. The batter played 81 ODIs, 13 Tests and 59 T20Is for his nation. He also became the first Pakistani batter to score a hundred in T20 internationals when he reached the three-figure mark against Bangladesh during the 2014 20-20 world cup. He was also a part of the squad that won the Champions Trophy in 2017.

The batter recently said in a statement that the former Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis hurt his career after he submitted a report to the Pakistan Cricket Board in 2016 to drop the batter from the national side and make him return to the domestic cricket to earn his place back.

Shehzad was always reported to have disciplinary issues in the team. Some experts believe that those issues led to his downfall in international cricket.
