In utter shock and dismay to ardent Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni fans, head coach Stephen Fleming has come up with a big statement on MS Dhoni’s knee injury. Fleming has also cleared the future of the 41-year-old in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League 2023.

Notably, Dhoni was in the headlines for his knocks of 32 runs off just 17 balls with a boundary and three sixes to his name. Although he failed to finish the game for Chennai still a lot of fans lauded him for the efforts of his team till the last ball.

Coming back to Stephen Fleming’s statement on MS Dhoni’s injury, he has also talked about the possible decisions the management could make to cope up with the list of injured players.

"He (MS Dhoni) is nursing a knee injury, which you can see in some of his movement, which is hindering him somewhat," Fleming said after the game. But still what you saw today is a great player for us. His fitness has always been very professional,” said Stephen Fleming during a press conference after the match against Rajasthan Royals.

We never have any doubts about the way he manages himself - Stephen Fleming on MS Dhoni

"He comes a month before the tournament starts, so he doesn't get the opportunity to do a lot . He will stay fit, and they will do some netting in Ranchi, but his main pre-season is done a month before when he comes to Chennai. And he works his way back into match form and I think you can still see he's playing pretty well. So, we never have any doubts about the way he manages himself and he always gets himself up to speed,” he added later.

Notably, Chennai will now play their fifth match in the tournament against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, the 17th of April from 7.30 pm.
