'How the hell am I gonna do and...' - Virat Kohli recalls his embarrassing experience during his first meeting with Anushka Sharma

Former Indian skipper and batting superstar, Virat Kohli was recently in a chat with former South African skipper and his Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers. Both the players interacted in former Proteas skipper’s ‘The 360 show’ on YouTube. The 34-year-old went on reveal a couple of things about his cricketing career and connections with a few former cricketers.

Apart from that, the Delhi star also revealed his embarrassing experience of first meeting his wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma. Notably, the couple tied the knot almost four years back in December 2017.

The duo is one of the most celebrated couples currently amongst a few notable celebrity couples. They share a huge fan base both cricket and Bollywood fans.

Coming back to Virat Kohli’s revelation on his first meeting with Anushka, he recalled the moment when they met first time almost 10 years back in the year in 2013 during a commercial shoot.

"I remember this was 2013, I was just named captain for the Zimbabwe tour. My manager came to me and told me that I was going to shoot with Anushka Sharma. As soon as I heard this, I was so nervous. How the hell am I gonna do this? I was really nervous," said Kohli to de Villiers in the Podcast.

"Out of nervousness, I didn't realize how tall she was. So, the first thing I told her when I saw her heels was, 'Didn't you get anything higher to wear?' and she was like 'Excuse me?' It was so bad; I was so nervous. But then I figured out that she was a normal person and when we got talking, I realized our background was so similar. From there on we became friends and then gradually we started dating, it didn't happen instantly," he added later.

Talking about cricket, Kohli is currently in action with Team India in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia. Following this, he will play for the Bangalore franchise in the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.
