'I am not able to make runs' - Virat Kohli reveals hilarious conversation with Jos Buttler

Virat Kohli hasn't really been at his best in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022. He hasn't been able to consistently score runs like he used to. However, he finally got back to the groove during Bangalore's game against Gujarat as he scored a match-winning knock.

Kohli scored a brilliant 73 from just 54 balls. While it propelled Bangalore to an eight-wicket win, the 33-year-old went on to win the player of the match award as well. However, his numbers in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022 are nowhere as good as the standards he has set for himself. So far in this edition, the 33-year-old has scored 309 runs in 14 games at an average of 23.77.

However, Kohli saw the humorous side of his below-average form. He recently revealed a funny conversation between him and Jos Buttler. While speaking to Harbhajan Singh on Star Sports, Kohli stated that the Englishman had approached him with a question after Bangalore's encounter against Rajasthan.

"Jos Buttler came to me, after the Rajasthan Royals match and said I want to ask you something and I told him that you’re wearing the Orange Cap what do you want to ask me, I am not able to make runs – and we had a laugh about it," said Virat Kohli. In the meanwhile, it is to be noted that Buttler has been in superb form in the ongoing 2022 edition.

As a matter of fact, he is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament as well. So far, Buttler has scored 627 runs in 13 games at an average of 52.25. As for Kohli, he recently drew light on his lean patch. He spoke about how playing all formats of the game for a decade takes a toll.

“The amount of cricket that I have played and the ups and downs and the toll that it takes on you to play three formats of the game plus the IPL for 10-11 years non-stop with the seven years of captaincy in between,” he added.
