The arch-rivals and two cricketing powerhouses, India and Pakistan are all set to cross swords in the high-octane clash in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, in India. Both teams will play this match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14. It will be the eighth time when India and Pakistan will be facing each other in the ODI World Cup history.
Recently, both teams faced each other recently in the Asia Cup 2023. India and Pakistan played two matches in the group stage and super-4 round, respectively. The group-stage match was washed off due to the rain. Later, in the super-4 round, India completely thrashed Pakistan by a big margin of 228 runs, the biggest ODI win against Pakistan in ODI history.

Meanwhile, the former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has come up with a warning for the Babar Azam-led Pakistan side ahead of their clash against India in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Akmal also pointed out the performance of Pakistan in the last three years and their mindset in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023.
“If they play with the same mentality as the Asia Cup, and the way we played for the past three years, they’re going to get thrashed badly. They need to prepare really well,” said Akmal in a video on his YouTube channel.
Furthermore, the former Pakistan star also spoke about the Indian team, including both their pace attack and the batting stars as well, including the likes of in-form batters, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill.
“Mohammed Shami is on the bench; he doesn’t play in this XI. That shows you it’s a complete bowling unit. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in form, Shubman Gill scored a century recently, so it looks like a solid batting unit. I’ll just say that for the match we have on October 14, the Pakistan team need to plan really well to put them under pressure,” he added later.
