Speaking of the Asia Cup 2023 final, both teams will be eyeing winning the Asia Cup title to strengthen their preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, in India. The hosts, Sri Lanka are coming off with a win in their last super-4 clash and the rain-affected virtual semi-final against Pakistan.
Sri Lanka won the must-win super-4 clash against the men in green by a margin of 2 wickets by the DLS method. On the other hand, India are coming off with a close defeat in their last super-4 clash against Bangladesh. India couldn’t chase down the target of 266 runs and got all out on the score of 259 runs, losing the match by 6 runs.
Following the conclusion of this ongoing Asia Cup 2023, the men in blue will take on Australia in the upcoming three-match home ODI series before heading to the home ODI World Cup next month. The ODI series between India and Australia will start on Friday, September 22.
