Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was quite delighted after the young Indian batter Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the ongoing second Test against England. Pietersen’s happiness also matters because he was the one to take a stand for Shubman Gill amidst criticism for the latter after a poor run of form.

Notably, Gill wasn’t very impressive with the bat in the last three innings of this series against England. He had scores of only 23, 0, and 34 to his name in these three innings he played. However, the 24-year-old made a brilliant comeback and scored 104 runs, with 11 fours and 2 sixes in the second innings of the second Test against England.

“Kallis averaged 22 in his first 10 Tests and turned out to be arguably the greatest player to play the game. Give Shubman Gill time to find it, please. He’s a serious player!” Pietersen had tweeted after a lot of experts and former cricketers criticized Shubman Gill for his poor form.

Now, Pietersen has come up with another for Shubman Gill after the latter smashed his much-awaited Test century. “Thank You, Shubman Gill,” wrote Kevin Pietersen while resharing his old post for Gill after the latter completed his hundred against the Three Lions.
