Former India skipper and the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli is currently out of action from Team India in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. Just a few days before the start of the series, Kohli withdrew his name from the Indian squad for the first two Tests of the series against England. Now, it has also been reported that the batting stalwart might miss the third and fourth Test as well.
Meanwhile, the former England skipper Nasser Hussain came up with a big statement while speaking about Virat Kohli’s preference for prioritizing family and personal life. The former England captain also felt that the former Indian skipper has given an unmatched contribution to Indian cricket in his illustrious career of more than 15 years.
Here's what Nasser Hussain said about Virat Kohli
Nasser also spoke about the highly-anticipated contest between Virat Kohli and England’s modern-day bowling great James Anderson; he also hinted that fans might miss this contest this time.
“Virat Kohli is one of the greatest batters ever to play the game and any series and any side will miss someone of the stature of Kohli. The game needs to look after the likes of Kohli as well. He has been playing international cricket for more than 15 years now and if he needs a break to be away with family just some time away from the game we wish Virat Kohli all the best. It means we don't have the mouthwatering possibility of an Anderson-Kohli contest that we have seen over the years so be it,” said Hussain to Sky Sports.
“Kohli and his family and his private life have to come first, so it's a blow for India, but as we've seen, they've got a lot of very good young batters. But KL Rahul, who was injured for the last game, played brilliantly in the last few months for India and in all formats. I think he'll come back in, so he'll add to their batting,” he added later.
