The England Lions are playing three Test matches on a tour in India. The Indian side returned strongly after their poor batting performance in the first innings of the unofficial Test, and the match ended in a tie. Sai Sudharshan (97), who just missed a well-earned century, and wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat (a magnificent hundred) were the main drivers of India's batting comeback.
With his incredible century, KS Bharat has a better chance of making the Indian playing eleven for the forthcoming first Test match against England. India need to do this because they want to remove KL Rahul from the wicketkeeping role. Rahul Dravid, the head coach, has been pushing for Bharat's participation in Test matches despite his past batting struggles, thus this century is a good start.
The standout India wicketkeeper was impressive, showing skill on both sides of the wicket. He scored nine of his fifteen boundaries against spinners, most of them went to the on-side. However, Bharat's centenary celebration has also made news. Before the January 22 Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ayodhya Temple, Bharat dedicated his tenth first-class century to Lord Ram.
