In a recent piece of news, the Indian Cricket Board has announced the squad for Team India for the first two Tests of the upcoming five-match home Test series against England. The senior men’s selection panel has named the uncapped Indian cricketer Dhruv Jurel as the third wicketkeeping option, alongside KL Rahul and KS Bharat.
Speaking of the batting lineup of Team India, the management named youngsters Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, alongside the experienced setup of the skipper Rohit Sharma, and former skipper Kohli; the other names in the batting attack are Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and KS Bharat.
On the other hand, the options for the all-rounders are Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja. The bowling attack includes four specialist pacers, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Avesh Khan, alongside the specialist spinner Avesh Khan.
The five-match Test series between India and England will commence on January 24, 2024, with the first Test match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Both teams will move to ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam for the second Test of the series on February 2.
The third Test of the series will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from February 15 before moving to JSCA Stadium in Ranchi for the fourth Test on February 23.
The fifth and last Test of the five-match series will be played from March 7 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala
