India vs South Africa: Three players who can replace Kuldeep Yadav in Indian team

Kuldeep Yadav, ahead of the first T20i against South Africa, suffered an injury and was ruled out of the series. He suffered the injury while batting in the nets during the practice session. The chinaman was expected to be a part of the playing XI after a brilliant season in the Indian T20 League 2022. However, that will no longer be possible. Here are the options the Indian team can look for in the absence of Kuldeep Yadav.

Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar has been around in the Indian Team for a while now but has not gotten many chances to play. He has donned the Indian jersey on six occasions, picking seven wickets. More recently, he had a decent run with the Punjab team in the Indian T20 League 2022. In his 13 appearances this season, he took 14 wickets for the team. He also had a decent economy rate of 7.7. He would be eager for another international call-up now.

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy is one of the most hyped players in recent times. He has had a few opportunities to play for the Indian team, but he has not lived up to the hype. He has two wickets at an economy rate of 5.86 in six matches. Chakravarthy might get a chance to play for India again as a replacement for Kuldeep Yadav. However, he will have to do a lot better than what he has been able to do in the past.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has been a major part of the Indian team for a while now. He made his comeback to the T20 team a while ago, but was not selected for the series against South Africa. Many experts of the game believed he should have been chosen for the series. In the recent Indian T20 League 2022, he did not get too many wickets, but was very effective with the ball. In 17 games this season, he got 12 wickets at a 7.5 economy rate.
