Virat Kohli continues to set the bar high when it comes to fielding and fitness, he has been a role model for many young cricketers. Kohli has been one of the fittest athletes in the world of sports. He ended his drought of overseas Test century after almost 5 years.  He was flamboyant and displayed tremendous application and temperament on his way to his 29th Test hundred during the second Test against West Indies.

The former Indian skipper also became the first cricketer to score a century in his 500th International match. The 34-year-old on Friday scored 121 runs off 206 balls in India’s commendable first innings score of 438 to equal Sir Don Bradman’s record of 29 Test tons. He was supported by Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 61 runs off 152 balls.

He has been consistently an attacking fielder on the field: T Dilip

India's fitness coach T Dilip said at the press conference after play on Day two, "One good factor is it is his 500th match and it is a special occasion and he has continued his form from the last match. If you look at his innings, there was no flamboyant drive, he had to grind it, same as what he did in the first game."

"His application was fantastic and at the same time, temperament on this wicket… there were times when the West Indies bowlers came good and he respected them. Overall, the way he paced the innings was fantastic," he added. Talking about Kohli’s commitment to fitness, Dilip said, "He walks the talk. If he speaks about fitness, he will be the first person to be there."

The fitness coach further added, "He has been consistently an attacking fielder on the field, mainly credit to his discipline, what he eats, how he takes care of himself." "It has been 10 years, he is still an attacking fielder, so it rubs on to the youngsters when a person like him is running around and takes those catches and attacks the ball so well."

Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul who got them off to a respectable start, negotiating the balls with caution and assurance, at end of Day 1 West Indies finished on 86/1 and 352 runs behind. India will be looking for quick wickets at the start of Day 3 as Brathwaite remains unbeaten on 37 and McKenzie on 14.
