With India’s loss in the fifth Test against England, all sights have now been set on the white-ball series against the Brits and ahead. India are to play a T20I series as well ODI series against the English side.

Further down the line, India are to clash with the West Indies in an eight-match series later this month. According to a report by Cricbuzz, some seniors in the Indian white-ball team will be rested for this upcoming series. While the finalisation of players who would be rested is not done yet, it is understood that the players would be from among the seniors and not the youngsters.

The squad was to be announced this week itself, but has been delayed due to names for players who are to be rested not yet finalised. Chetan Sharma, the chief selector, has been with the Indian team in England and is likely to have a chat with the senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and others after the conclusion of the fifth India- England Test match.

As Rohit Sharma was rested for the T20I series against South Africa, and then again for the India- England Test match due to COVID, he is likely to captain the Indian side against the West Indies. Rohit Sharma joined the Indian side after his test returned negative.
