IPL 2023 - Indian Cricket Board confirms venues for the playoffs of the tournament

IPL 2023 is underway as the 29^th match of the tournament is in action between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board has come up with a recent announcement regarding the venues of the knockout stage of the tournament.

Indian Cricket Board, on Friday, the 21^st of April came up with a confirmation of the grounds which will host the playoffs and eliminator followed by the final clash of the ongoing 16^th season of the tournament.

The first qualifier of IPL 2023 will be played on the 23^rd of May in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The eliminator is scheduled to be played just the next day on the 24^th of May at the same venue.

Whereas, the second qualifier and the much-anticipated title clash of the tournament will be played at the world’s biggest, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on the 26^th and then on the 28^th of May.

First Qualifier

Eliminator

Date – 26^th May 2023

Time – 7.30 PM (Indian Standard Time)

Final

Venue – Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Date – 28^th May 2023

Time – 7.30 PM (Indian Standard Time)

Notably, the current edition of the Indian Premier League is being played in its old home-and-away format. In this format, all teams will play half of their league matches at their home ground whereas they will play the other matches of the league stage on the away venues against the opponent team.
