The IPL Auctions 2024 is just over a day away from the cricket lovers as fans look to find out who their favourite team would purchase. More than 300 players would get featured and go under the hammer during one of the league’s mega events. Discussions have been going around on the top buys during the IPL Auctions 2024.

Amidst the fuss about the IPL Auctions 2024, the Mumbai Indians are having a traumatising time to handle their inner affairs. Since the appointment of Hardik Pandya as captain, the fans have lashed out and expressed their disappointment over the decision.

This captaincy call has effectively ended Rohit Sharma’s tenure as skipper of the franchise. The Indian opener led the team from 2013 to 2023 and has been one of the most successful skippers in the history of the Indian Premier League. He had taken over the side in some of the toughest scenarios and guided them to victory. The Team India opener has made the Mumbai Indians a force to reckon with during every season.

However, his captaincy might just not be over since he might get traded to another team after the IPL Auctions 2024. There will certainly be some teams that would love to have the services of the 6-time IPL winner. But when can this trade between the player and the franchise take place.

Can other franchises get Rohit Sharma after IPL Auctions 2024?

The player-trading window opens one month after a season concludes and remains available until one week before the auction date, as per IPL regulations. After then, it reopens and runs for another month, or until the start of the following season.

Because the auction is set for December 19, the IPL 2024 transaction window closed on December 12. However, it will reopen on December 20 and remain open for at least a month prior to the 2024 season starts. This indicates that the window will probably be open until February 2024. This provides teams lots of chances to try and sign Rohit, should he and MI feel that way.
