In a shocking piece of news, young Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter Robin Minz met a road accident this weekend after his superbike Kawasaki collided with another motorcycle on a road. Notably, Jharkhand’s rising cricketing star was picked by Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 mini-auction for an amount of INR 3.60 crores after getting over a bidding war with CSK, SRH, and MI last year.
Speaking of the incident, Francis Minz, father of Robin Minz spoke about it and said that the latter lost his control while riding his superbike. It resulted in an encounter of his bike with another motorcycle leading to damage to the front half young cricketer’s bike.
“He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation,” said Francis Minz to News 18.

Interestingly, it was the first time when an IPL team bought Robin Minz; his parents expressed happiness after the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans picked him for the 17th edition of the tournament.
“We could never imagine that our son would achieve something like this. He has made us so happy. Once, a long time back, Robin had gone to play in Khunti [a district in Jharkhand] and did so well that reporters came to my home, and they put my picture in the papers the next day. I can't tell you how happy and proud that made me. I even called his father and told him, jokingly, that my picture had come in the papers but his hadn't. I think that incident convinced us that Robin would do well as a cricketer,” said Robin’s mother to ESPN Cricinfo after he was sold to Gujarat Titans.
“When we first went to a sports goods store to buy a bat and other gear for Robin, we thought we would get everything for Rs 2000. But the bat alone was Rs 5000! We didn't know what to do. The shopkeeper was also looking at us suspiciously,” she added later while speaking about the cricketer’s struggle.
