Former India opening batter, Gautam Gambhir used to perform well with the bat against Pakistan. Fans might remember his performances in the 20-20 World Cup 2007 final, Asia Cup 2010 game, etc. On the other hand, Gambhir had a fight with Shahid Afridi, and Kamran Akmal at different times. Meanwhile, Akmal has lifted the lid on the incident he had with Gambhir during the Asia Cup 2010.

The former started by saying that it was a complete misunderstanding. The former Pakistan wicketkeeper revealed that Gambhir didn't say anything to him. However, due to his own misunderstanding, Akmal said that he thought whatever Gambhir said was directed towards him. Akmal added that whatever Gambhir said was hilarious in nature.

“That was complete misunderstanding. It was an Asia Cup match in 2009. Saeed Ajmal bowled, there was an appeal for caught-behind from me. It was given not out. Gambhir said something in a hilarious way, but because of the hype around India-Pakistan matches...he did not any cuss words. If I am not wrong, he said that to himself, but I felt it was directed towards me,” he said.

Ishant Sharma cussed me but MS Dhoni cool down the situation: Kamran Akmal

Apart from the Asia Cup 2010 incident, the elder brother of the Akmal brothers also spoke about his incident with Ishant Sharma. For the unversed, in late 2012, Sharma and Akmal had a fight during a T20I in Bangalore. Akmal said that the likes of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina cooled down the situation.

“Ishant Sharma did abuse, but also received them back in plenty (Ishant ne gaali diya par baad mein usko bhi bohot pada). MS Dhoni, who was the captain of the team, such a nice person, and Suresh Raina came and settled it down. India were losing and it happened in heat of the moment. Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez were playing very well so he was furious,” he said.
