India will be looking to make a comeback after losing the first two T20 International after falling short by small margins. In the third T20I, West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and chose to bat against India in the third Twenty20 International at Providence Stadium in Guyana. In order to secure the first win in the five-match series, India made a few alterations to their starting lineup.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was given his debut cap in T20Is after an excellent performance in his Test debut on this tour. The southpaw took the position of Ishan Kishan in the playing XI for the important encounter, which India sorely needs to win to keep the series alive. The star left-hand batter hit a spectacular century on his Test debut (171) and then added a brilliant half-century in the second Test.
Ishan, who has failed to provide India with a decent start in powerplay this series, has been dropped from the XI, with Sanju Samson poised to keep the wickets on Tuesday. Kuldeep Yadav returned to the XI after missing the last match owing to a slight injury, replacing Ravi Bishnoi in the third T20I here. Hardik stated that they will keep things easy on Tuesday in order to keep the series alive.
“Don’t mind chasing. Obviously would’ve preferred to bat looking at the surface. Might get slower. It is what it is. Pooran has been batting very well. Would like to keep things simple to him, rather than trying a lot of things. Two changes, Yashasvi makes his debut, and Kuldeep comes in for Bishnoi. Ishan misses out," Hardik Pandya told at the toss.
Jaiswal has been in brilliant form
The flamboyant opener had the best season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when the 21-year-old blasted off 625 runs in the 14 games with a shocking strike rate of 163.61 and also a healthy average of 48.07 that he played in the tournament. The Rajasthan Royal opener was in the form of his life throughout the tournament.
Jaiswal also had a brilliant outing in his Test match debut where he went onto a play terrific knock of 171 runs and also finished the series with 266 runs to his name with an average of 88.66.
