On 7 October 2022, India Women took on their arch-rivals Pakistan Women in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup. It was the 13th match of the tournament. Coming to this encounter, India Women won all three matches. While Pakistan won their first two matches before suffering a shocking loss to Thailand Women.
So, India came to this encounter as the favourite. They were looking to continue their winning momentum. On the other hand, Pakistan were looking for an upset. Speaking of the match, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. For them, in-form Sidra Ameen and Muneeba Ali came out to open.

While batting first, Pakistan scored 137 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. They were struggling a bit after losing three quick wickets. Pakistan scored only 33 runs for three wickets in the first six overs. Then, skipper Bishma Maroof and veteran batter, Nida Dar stitched a solid partnership of 76 runs. Both these players managed to steady the ship for their team. Finally, Maroof lost her wicket after scoring 32 runs off 35 balls. She also smashed two fours, at a strike rate of 91.42. But, Nida Dar scored 56* runs off 37 balls, including five boundaries and one six. Thus, Pakistan ended on 137 runs for six wickets.
For India, Deepti Sharma took three wickets for 27 runs in four overs. In reply, Smriti Mandhana and Meghana came out to bat during the chase. However, all Indian batters failed miserably as they started to lose wickets. Pakistan bowlers were on a roll as they defended the target successfully. India got bundled out for 124 runs in 19.4 overs. Thus, Pakistan defeated India by 13 runs and handed a shocking defeat to Harmanpreet Kaur and her girls. For the Women in Green, Nashra Sandhu took three wickets for 30 runs. Nida Dar won the player of the match award for her match-winning contribution with the bat. But, fans did not like this defeat as they showed their disappointment on social media platforms.
