Team India are currently preparing for their first assignment in 2023. Sri Lanka will play a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series in India. However, senior players have been given a rest from the shortest format of the game. Hence. Hardik Pandya will lead the team in Rohit’s Absence.

But, the Indian Cricket Board confirmed that all those players will be back for the 50-over format games. Meanwhile, on 1 January 2023, the Board arranged a performance review meeting in Mumbai. They discussed all the results in 2022 and all the needed future steps in Indian Cricket. As a result, they came up with some key decisions, especially regarding the fitness of players.

On the other hand, the domestic season is also going on in India as players are busy representing their states in Ranji Trophy. Apart from that, CK Nayudu Trophy also began on the first day of 2023. This four-day tournament is an under-25 tournament. In the last edition in 2022, Mumbai defeated Vidharbh in the final. CK Nayudu was the first-ever captain for the Men in Blue in Tests. So, the name of this tournament has been made in honor of him. However, after the performance review meeting, the Board decided that the VVS Laxman-led National Cricket Academy (NCA) will work with Indian T20 League franchises to monitor players’ fitness, especially those who have a history of injuries.

In an official statement, the Board further added: “Keeping in mind the Men’s FTP and preparations for 2023 World Cup, the NCA will work in tandem with the Indian T20 League Franchisee to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the Indian T20 League 2023.” But, on 2 January, the Board made a blunder by sharing the wrong tweet in order to share the Playing XI of Jammu Kashmir against Rajasthan in the ongoing CK Nayudu Trophy. The match took place at the Hostel Ground JKCA. Speaking of the tweet, it showed only four names instead of 11 players. So, fans found the whole matter very hilarious and came up with some interesting views on Twitter.
