The Second-string Pakistan cricket team is currently playing in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. Notably, the marquee players including the likes of skipper Babar Azam and star batter Mohammad Rizwan are not in action with the team in the current series. In the absence of these remarkable players, the men in green are playing under the captaincy of star all-rounder Shadab Khan.

Meanwhile, they hadn’t have an expected outing in the first of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. Notably, Afghanistan also played under the captaincy of young and sensational bowling all-rounder Rashid Khan. Pathans went on to outplay Shadab’s men in the first T20I by a margin of six wickets.

Subsequently, a Pakistan journalist happened to share a picture of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan; he remembered the duo and expressed the way he is missing them with a caption, “Aaj yad ayi hay’ at the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Although this tweet from the sports journalist didn’t go down well with a section of Pakistan cricket fans. They took to Twitter and trolled him for not standing with the young-gen cricketers and new experiments with the national team.

Speaking of the action of the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan; the former’s skipper Shadab Khan won the toss and decided to bat first. But unfortunately, the decision didn’t go in favor of Pakistan as they could score only 92 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. None of the Pakistan batters could cross the individual mark of 20+ runs.

Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi scalped two wickets each including one wicket each by Omarzai, and Naveen-ul-Haq.

While chasing the target, Afghanistan crossed the line in 17.5 overs for the loss of only four wickets and won the match by six wickets. Former skipper Mohammad Nabi won the ‘player of the award for his brilliant match-defining performance.
