The second blockbuster of the Asia Cup 2022 got underway on Sunday as India and Pakistan collided with each other once again at Dubai. Unlike the last game, Babar Azam won the toss and invited India to bat first. The Indian openers came out to bat and showed clear intent to score right from the word go. Both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul didn’t shy away from playing big shots and attacked the Pakistan bowlers.

After the opening partnership ended on 54, Virat Kohli walked in to bat and looked like a completely different player from the previous India-Pakistan match. The innings against Hong Kong did the perfect job of bringing back lost confidence of Kohli. The star batter got off the mark on the very first ball and looked hungry for a big score.

Kohli was looking at his absolute best as he rotated the strike and scored occasional boundaries. India were losing wickets at the other end at regular intervals but Kohli’s presence at the crease meant that there was a sense of calm in the dressing room.

The former Indian captain looked in full flow as he reached his half-century in 36 balls with a mighty blow over the deep mid-wicket. Kohli, along with Hooda, had the responsibility of taking the team to a huge total after they lost their way in the middle overs. Kohli was finally dismissed in the last over as he got run out trying to farm the strike. He returned back to the pavilion with a score of 60 against his name in 44 balls.

India finished their innings at the score of 181 for 7 after the end of their allotted overs. Kohli made a big statement with his emphatic knock and announced his return to form in style. Fans were elated to see their favourite batter back amongst the runs. Twitter was abuzz with reactions right from the first shot of Virat Kohli.
