Scott Boland might be making the final cut into the Australian team due to the uncertainty surrounding Josh Hazelwood and his fitness going into the Test Championship final which will commence on June 7 at the Oval in London. Although Hazlewood was added to the team as he gears up to face India in the final, Boland is the front-runner to be Australia's third seamer. Boland, Hazlewood, Matt Renshaw, as well as Mitchell Marsh, served as reserves on Cricket Australia's 15-player squad. Marcus Harris, the opening batsman, and reserve wicketkeeper Josh Inglis make up the team's 14th and 15th members.

The Australian selectors believe that the Test Championship final is a chance to commemorate the squad's two-year dedication. They overcame a very difficult draw that included Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India each competing away from home to earn a spot for the championship after discovering a far less daunting set of fixtures during the first season from 2019 and 2021.

Neser and Sean Abbott of Surrey are both members of the larger Australian team that is presently training in Britain. Neser has performed admirably for Glamorgan in county matches throughout the northern season. Neser grabbed a total of seven wickets at 16.71 using the pink Kookaburra ball in his two Test matches, each played in Adelaide during the previous two summers whenever Hazlewood was injured.

He has previously stated that medical personnel and management must carefully consider when to allow him to return to action while he is still bowling, thus it seems doubtful he would be pushed back to participate in the Test championship finals against India at the Oval, which begins on June 7.

Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, the former captains of Team India, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur are among the players on the team who did not compete in the Border-Gavaskar series in the months of February and March.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) final was moved to its reserve day because of heavy rain in Ahmedabad, further delaying the Indian team's trip to London, which already had a short turnaround time from the IPL. The top team Gujarat Titans (GT) is going to get the trophy if the reserve day is additionally postponed due to inclement weather.
