Team India are currently busy playing the three-match ODI series in Bangladesh. However, after the 20-20 World Cup, senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took a rest from the New Zealand tour. But, keeping the 2023 World Cup in the mind, these players made a comeback in this ODI series.
However, before this series, fans were keeping their eyes on the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. He was coming off after having a great 20-20 World Cup for India. In that tournament, he was the highest scorer. Virat Kohli scored 296 runs in six innings, at an average of 98.66. So, fans were happy to see him in such a form for the Men in Blue.
Virat Kohli scored only five runs off six balls in the second ODI
In the first match of the series, Virat Kohli failed to score big as he managed only nine runs off 15 balls. However, it was a great catch by the Bangladesh skipper that dismissed the former Indian skipper. However, all other batters also failed to score in that match as India got bundled out for 186 runs. Then, in reply, Bangladesh chased down the target with one wicket in the hand and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
Then, on 7 December, the Men in Blue locked horns with Bangladesh in the second ODI. While batting first, Bangladesh scored 271 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 100* runs off 83 balls, including eight fours and four sixes. However, during the match, Rohit Sharma got injured while taking a catch and thus, he got ruled out of batting. So, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan came out to open the innings. However, Kohli started the innings with a boundary on the first ball. But, he scored only five runs off six balls as Ebadot Hossain took his wicket. Kohli chopped onto his own stumps via a thick bottom edge while trying for a pull shot.
