Recently, Deepak Chahar made his comeback to the Indian team during the ODI series against Zimbabwe. He got injured in February this year and missed out on the series against Sri Lanka and the Indian T20 League 2022. After months of injury, the right-arm medium pacer played the game. However, he is now reported to be injured once again ahead of the Asia Cup.

The Agra-born player was named as the reserve in the squad. Now, it is reported that Kuldeep Sen, who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket and Rajasthan in the Indian T20 League, might replace him. If the reports are true, it will be a major blow for the Men in Blue. They have already lost the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel.

Talking about pace bowling, the team has the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan. Meanwhile, according to the report on Dainik Bhaskar, Kuldeep's coach Aril Anthony will miss the tournament and his pupil has been included in the squad. Kuldeep’s brother Jagdeep Sen has said that his brother has received a call from the Indian Cricket Board to join the team.

Talking about Sen, he has played 16 First Class, Five List A, and 25 T20 games. In these games, he has picked 68 wickets across formats. In the biggest T20 League in which he made his debut this year, he played seven games and picked eight wickets.

India will start their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan

The Rohit Sharma-led side will start their campaign in the continental cup with the game against Pakistan. Both teams are playing for the first time this year. The last time they played each other was in the 20-20 World Cup last year. The game was played in Dubai and the upcoming game will be played at the same venue. The last time they played each other, the Babar Azam-led side won by 10 wickets which was also their first victory against India in the history of the 20-20 World Cup.
