On June 1, Indian medium-pacer Deepak Chahar got married to his long-time girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj in the town of his birth, Agra. Quite a few Indian cricketers, capped and uncapped were present on such this big day. However, it was an intimate ceremony with only close friends and relatives present in the event. Notably, he had proposed Bhardwaj during the UAE-led of Indian T20 League 2021.

In February this year, he sustained a right quadriceps injury while bowling in a T20I game against the West Indies. He was then ruled out of the T20I series against Sri Lanka which followed right after and the first half of the Indian T20 League 2022.

It looked like the Agra-born will play the rest of the game for Chennai in the 15th season when he was training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, the 29-year-old sustained a back injury which ruled him out of the rest of the season. Also, it is unknown when he will be able to return to competitive cricket. He hasn't been named in the second-string Indian squad for the home series against South Africa as well.

Meanwhile, an image of his reception is going viral on social media. The image consists of the groom alongside quite a few Indian players. From the left, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Shardul Thakur, Chahar, Karn Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rishabh Pant were posing for the photo. However, Twitter users have mistaken Ahmed for Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali. A lot of them felt that Ali was invited to the event.

However, it is to be noted that Ali is with his national side as they will host the West Indies for the ODI series in Rawalpindi later this month. The series was The series will consist of three games to be played on June 8, 10, and 12.
