Team India are currently busy playing the first match of the ongoing two-match Test series in Bangladesh. In order to get qualified for the World Test Championship final, this series is going to be a crucial one for the Men in Blue. However, due to a thumb injury, Rohit Sharma missed the Test and KL Rahul became the skipper.

Speaking of the match, KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they were in a spot of trouble when they lost the first three wickets for 48 runs. Then, Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara played a solid inning to settle the ship for the Men in Blue. At the end of day one, India scored 278 runs for six wickets in 90 overs.

India managed to take eight wickets of Bangladesh on day two

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 90 runs off 203 balls, including 11 fours. But, Iyer continued his batting as he finished day one after scoring 82* runs off 169 balls, including 10 fours. However, fans were hoping to see a hundred on day two. But, he failed to do so as Iyer got out on 86 runs off 192 balls. Then, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav put up a solid partnership of 92 runs.

Ashwin got out after scoring 58 runs off 113 balls, including two balls and two sixes. While Kuldeep scored 40 runs off 114 balls, including five fours. However, India got bundled out for 404 runs in 133.5 overs in the first innings. For Bangladesh, both Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam took four wickets each. In reply, Bangladesh batters looked miserable as they scored 133 runs for eight wickets in 44 overs at the end of day two. Mohammed Siraj took three wickets for 14 runs in nine overs. Along with him, Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs. As a result, the Bangla Tigers are still trailing by 271 runs in their first innings.
