India and New Zealand locked horns in the second of the three-match T20I series at the AB Vajpayee Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow. The visitors’ skipper won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at the tough surface Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Batting first, the Kiwis could manage to post a total of only 99 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target of 100 runs, the men in blue also struggled a lot and could cross the winning line only on the penultimate ball of the last over at the cost of 4 wickets.

Arshdeep Singh scalped two wickets by conceding only 7 runs in two overs with an amazing economy rate of 3.50.

Other than Arshdeep, every bowler of the Indian team claimed a wicket each except Shivam Mavi.

While chasing the target, the New Zealand bowlers made it very tough for Hardik Pandya & co. to chase down the target of only 100 runs in 20 overs. The hosts lost four wickets on the score of 70 runs when the skipper joined his deputy Suryakumar Yadav in the middle. But eventually, it was Suryakumar Yadav’s knock of 26 runs off 31 balls with a boundary that helped India to chase down a total of 100 runs in 9.5 overs.

Now, the men in blue have leveled the three-match T20I series with a score line of 1-1 as they faced a defeat in the T20I series opener played in Ranchi.
