Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairperson, Najam Sethi has given some explosive statements in regards to Asia Cup 2023. Since September last year, both Indian and Pakistan Cricket Boards are having a disagreement over the venue of the tournament. Pakistan wanted to play the entire tournament at home while India wants to it to be moved to a neutral venue.

Not to forget, in the last few months, PCB has been offering a Hybrid model to India. However, in a recent interview, Sethi said that there is no security issue in Pakistan. Notably, the Asian country is going through a civil war, following Imran Khan's arrest. Meanwhile, gave the reference of teams such as Australia, England, and New Zealand visiting the Asian country in the last year or so.

"No, we never said all or nothing. We are saying if India is not able to play in Pakistan, it's okay. Pakistan will play India in a neutral venue. The remaining teams can play in Pakistan. Because Pakistan has hosted all major countries in the recent past, teams like Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand have come and played in Pakistan. There are no security issues. We can play a couple of matches against India and the rest of the teams' matches can also be played in a neutral venue. We are ready fror compromise. All or nothing is nothing is not what we want,' Najam Sethi said in an interview with Sports Tak.

PCB will use the same Hybrid model in the ODI World Cup: Najam Sethi

The PCB chair added that if the Indian Cricket Board accepts the Hybrid model in the Asia Cup, the Pakistan board will ask for the same in the ODI World Cup.

“If India now wants to have a neutral venue and accepts the hybrid model, then we’ll use the same hybrid model in the World Cup. Pakistan can play its World Cup matches in Dhaka or any other venue to which India agrees, and similarly in the Champions Trophy. So all the other countries can come and play in Pakistan but India can play at a neutral venue. So this is a model that goes forward and resolves this political logjam,” he told The Indian Express.
