The campaign in the Indian Premier League 2023 ended for one of the crowd-favorite teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore. The men in red and gold faced the defending champions Gujarat Titans in the last league match of the current season of the tournament. They had to win this match to secure their berth in the playoffs but unfortunately, they couldn’t make it to cross the finishing line and lost the match by a margin of six wickets.

Earlier, the fans were expecting a thrilling match between RCB and LSG in the eliminator owing to the fierce rivalry between both teams in the two matches, they played against each other in the group stage of the tournament.

Just after RCB’s elimination from the tournament, the LSG came up with a cryptic tweet on the next day of the match and mentioned Faf du Plessis’ team in the tweet. The LSG franchise also recalled the earlier rivalry with the Royal Challengers that took place in the league stage of the current season.

“Give it? Take it? Let's leave it. Well fought, RCB. See you next season,” read the post by the Lucknow Super Giants on their official Twitter handle.

Speaking of the playoffs, the defending champions Gujarat Titans will face the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier today, 23rd of May at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from 7.30 PM. Subsequently, the Super Giants will lock horns with the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the eliminator match of the tournament. Both teams will play this match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
